WHAT: Buffalo Opera Unlimited presents Cinderella (La Cenerentola) by Gioacchino Rossini.
Rossini's version of Cinderella calls for virtuoso singers to tell the story of the poor step-daughter who marries the prince.  This is not your Disney version - there's a step-father, a philosopher who takes the place of the fairy godmother, and instead of a glass slipper, a bracelet.  But don't worry!  Love wins out in the end, and the singing is glorious!
Featuring: Mariami Bekauri as Cinderella, Lorenzo Parnell as Don Ramiro (the prince), Tyler Mecklenburg as Don Magnifico, David Waterland as Dandini, Danielle Di Stefano as Clorinda, Shaya Greathouse as Tisbe, and Kyle Botsford as Alidoro. Robert Duerr, conductor.

WHAT:
Opera Niagara presents La Bohème.
La Bohème has long been considered Puccini's most beloved masterpiece and one you won't soon forget. The heart of the story is love, devotion to art, devotion to friends, and the plight for a better life. Two couples, the Latin Quarter in Paris, poverty, and a love that transcends time. Come and experience all the emotions that the heart is meant to feel.

With a spectacular cast and directed by Metropolitan Opera, 2017 winner of the Claudia Muzio International Award for a soprano, and the 2018 Verdi D'Oro, Aprile Millo, and Opera Niagara's resident human orchestra, Maestro Adolfo De Santis, this is one you don't want to miss.

"While all the artists in this production did an outstanding job, the many women involved played a huge role in the successes of the night. Opera's centuries-old conventions usually exclude women from leadership roles on stage or behind-the-scenes. Yet, this production combined the talents of Vetere, Artistic Director Aprile Millo and chorus directors Jennifer McKillop and Lindsey Duggan--all forces to be reckoned with--for an impressive production." (Dawn Martens, Opera Canada Summer Issue 2019.)

November 15 cast: Mimi (Maria Vetere), Musetta (Lisa Di Maria)
November 17 cast: Mimi (Lisa Di Maria), Musetta (Emily Casey)
