The Erwin H. Johnson Memorial Fund Inc., with its mission of promoting and supporting opera, is honored to again be the coordinating organizer of Celebrate National Opera Week 2014 in the WNY and Niagara Region. We hope that our schedule of special concerts, lectures and entertaining celebrations to commemorate National Opera Week in our area will not only inspire the young and old alike, but will also strengthen the sense of community through the universal language of Music.
WHEN: Thursday, October 16, 12:10 p.m.
WHAT: Proclamation Day! Proclamations from state, city and county officials from New York, Buffalo, Niagara Falls and area counties will be recognized by the Erwin H. Johnson Memorial Fund, Inc., coordinators of Celebrate National Opera Week Buffalo/Niagara Region, to acknowledge the week long festivities. Entertainment follows with Professor Julie Newell of Hillman Opera and SUNY Fredonia, Valerian Ruminski, bass/ Artistic Director of Nickel City Opera, Tony Kuntz, piano, regional artists and speakers, including insights from Buffalo Opera Unlimited Tim Kennedy, Artistic Director and Hon. Ann T. Mikoll, President of the Chopin Singing Society.
Programs of the complete listing of all events and activities for the upcoming Opera Week in Buffalo/Niagara will be available to attendees.
